There are certain things you take as standard when it comes to social behaviour.
Avoid making any sexual comments about kids. Don’t take the mick of out of disabilities. Try not to be openly racist.
But loads of people find the latter really, really hard.
For some reason, they can’t help themselves but just be really racially offensive – and they fail to understand why what they’re doing isn’t cool. As long as they’re not using the N-word or going around lynching folk, they’re fine.
Take Turkish MUA @percemakin, for example.
She recently uploaded a video to her YouTube channel – presumably as Halloween inspo – depicting a blackface transformation.
It’s bad, but there’s more.
When she uploaded the same image to her Instagram account, she actually used the hashtag #slave (sandwiched between #blackwoman and #sadmakeup).
Yep, this is a SLAVERY INSPIRED BEAUTY LOOK.
And when everyone kicked off, she locked her ‘gram account, deleted the hashtag, and turned off comments before setting it public again.
But, not surprisingly, that wasn’t enough.
After getting a continued stream of sh*t from outraged followers, she’s now locked her Instagram completely – presumably because people still don’t like white women doing blackface of ethnic minorities.
