When it comes to watching beauty vloggers on social media, we can waste hours of time. From watching them perfect a killer cat eye or contouring their entire bod – it’s no secret that watching beauty videos is highly addictive. (Help. We need help!)

But, when we recently discovered Vanessa Davis, who’s instagram account is pretty much going viral rn – we reached a whole new level of obsession. Because unlike other beauty instagrams that recreate day/night makeup, Vanessa creates SKULLS. And they’re MEGA.

It’s makeup that serves perfectly as a Halloween makeup tutorial ( / skeleton makeup tutorials) but it’s also more than that. Because Vanessa’s tutorials are full on mesmerising.

Apparently it all started a few years ago when Vanessa needed a Halloween costume and decided to DIY her own skeleton skull with makeup. Since then, she’s earned the nickname The Skulltress and continues to post skeleton makeup tutorials on the reg.

Holographic Skull Video 💿💀💕💜💚 The first makeup I ever bought was from @maccosmetics in 1997, age 14. Two vivid pressed eyeshadows: ‘Steamy’ and ‘Aquadisiac’ are featured in this makeup. Also featured is ‘Red Electric’ Pigment Powder. I love these colours so much, this is how I began, by packing colours into various contours of the face. I had been collecting stars for a while now and they just seemed in harmony with these eyeshadows. Here’s to celebrating 20 years using Makeup Art Cosmetics 🍾⭐️✨@maccosmetics @maccosmeticsuk #maccosmetics #maccosmeticsuk #skullart #skullmakeup #skulltress #artoftheday StyleArtists #arts_secret #artwonderful #art_daily #sketch_daly #crazymakeups #artdaily #instagram #instagood #styleblogger #makeupartist #artoftheday #nofilter #holographic

Speaking with Allure, Vanessa said: “I noticed that the successful makeup accounts specialised in either a particular style or subject, so I chose skulls, which also worked as my heritage is Mexican and English.”
