This Eye Makeup Stick Gives Me Night-Out Eyes in Two Minutes – Glamour

Cliché as it may be, one of my favorite quotes is from the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. You and everyone you know are probably familiar: Ferris looks at the camera and says, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.” This is my way of saying, if someone wants to meet up from a dating app and the banter’s there, I’m generally down. Life does move pretty fast, so my key for getting home from work and out the door with date makeup in two minutes? A double-ended stick.

That sounds like a vibrator, but nope: it’s Wander Beauty’s Eyes on The Fly, a $24 dual-sided applicator with a creamy shadow housed in one end and a pitch-black liner in the other. As the owner of a very, very oily pair of eyelids, creamy stick shadows are my everything. Of all the eye products, they’ve got the best track record for making it past hour two (again: very oily lids). Without exaggerating, I can say that I’ve tried almost every version on the market. From Maybelline’s $5.99 Eyestudio Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayon to By Terry’s $35 Ombre Blackstar “Color-Fix” Cream Eyeshadow, all of them are generally good.

But the Wander wins for sticking to your lids like Kraz-E Glue—it’s one of the only products I’ve ever tried that, if I put it on at 7 P.M., it’s still there when I wash my face later that night. It also gets top marks for pure convenience factor: I rub the stick—I like the bronzey-brown shade, Gilded—on in a slightly pointed, generally cat eye-shaped way, and smudge the shadow’s outer edges with my finger. Voilà, you’ve got a steamy-looking smoky eye. Top with the other side, an intense pencil liner, and you’re out the door in two minutes flat. The date may or may not be good, but my eye makeup will be on point. And that’s what really matters.
