Kendall Jenner may have gone sheer and shocking in her thong-baring Met Gala gown, but her beauty look was totally timeless. Her subtle smoky eye, glowy complexion and bright red lip is just one of those looks you’ll want to recreate for your next date night (or wear to every wedding on your agenda this season!) and thankfully, Kendall just spilled all her beauty secrets so you can get the look yourself!
She wrote on her blog that she decided to keep to her signature eye, but play up her lips a bit. “I never like to go too heavy on the eyes — a smoky brown lid is my go-to,” she wrote. “Originally, I wasn’t going to do red lipstick, but then the latest episode of KUWTK aired and everyone was asking about the color (the same one I wore on The Late Late Show with James Corden). I thought it was a sign that I should go for a bold lip.”
The color she’s referring to is the orange-red hue “Carnal” in Estée Lauder’s Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick collection (which you can buy at esteelauder.com for $32!)
With the help of makeup artist Mary Phillips, they broke down the rest of her look in a step-by-step guide explaining exactly what products to buy and exactly how to apply them.

1. Eye Masks
You’ll want to start with Estée Lauder’s Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask to get red carpet-ready. “I massaged the remaining serum into Kendall’s skin and a little bit into her neck and chest,” says Phillips. “I like to pop these into the fridge or freezer so they have a cooling effect. The results are fabulous—she looks radiant, de-puffed and glowing.”

Phillips chose this because she says, “Kendall wanted something super light and glowy.”

The pro tip is to apply bronzer toward the hairline, cheeks, nose and chin, and in half-circles from the temples to the outer cheeks, according to Phillips.

The point of using a shimmery finish is to “bring [the] bronzer to life,” says Phillips.

“I applied them both wet and dry for a varied amount of drama while keeping it like a wash of color,” Phillips explains.

According to Phillips this hit the makeup trifecta: it avoid clumps and makes lashes look extra long and voluminous.

Since Kendall has “gorgeous brows,” Phillips just had to “flick the ‘hairs’ on for a more natural appearance.”
