An award-winning makeup artist has injected some glamour into Wrexham after opening her first beauty studio.
Georgia Savage Makeup Studio which opened its doors for the first time today offers professional make-overs, hairdressing services and beauty treatments from a team of top beauticians.
The Brook Street venue was launched by owner Georgia Savage – an acclaimed makeup stylist from Wrexham.
The building which sits adjacent to the town’s brand new nightclub ATIK , has been empty for some time.
But the 22-year-old twin has completely transformed it into a stylish studio, boasting plenty of glitz, glamour and faux fur.
The open-plan pink pad can sit up to four people at a time and has two hand painted abstract portraits of Georgia hanging on the walls – painted by her twin Courtney.
Clients having their faces made-up will sit on white leather chairs in front of two large illuminated vanity mirrors, while those waiting for treatments sit on a stylish booth, covered in faux fur cushions.
There is also a separate room to the back of the studio for those having beauty treatments.
Speaking following this morning’s launch, Georgia said: “I’ve built up such a big client base since I started four-years-ago I wanted to open somewhere where my clients could just come for their makeup and hair done all under one roof.
“And my family are all from Liverpool and they’re all very glamorous so that’s where I got my inspiration from.
“Wrexham definitely needed something like this.
“I’ve always been into my hair and makeup but there was never really anybody in Wrexham that did it.
“So I just wanted to create somewhere where people in Wrexham could go to have a drink and go for a bit of a party while having their hair and makeup done before they go out.
“It’s different to anything else in Wrexham and in Chester.
Georgia will have a team of hair stylists and another beautician working alongside her including Megan Gregory, Emily Gallagher and Hana Jones, offering a new beauty experience for the town.
“Megan Gregory does the Beauty Works so she specialises in hair extensions, blow-dries and hair colouring,” she said.
“We’ve got Emily Gallagher who does more bridal hair and hair colouring and we’ve also got Hana Jones makeup who will be working alongside me.”
Earlier this year, Georgia she won Freelance Hair and Make up Specialist of the Year at the the fourth annual Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards in Cardiff where she joined some of the biggest names in the Welsh industry.
“It was an amazing feeling knowing that people had nominated me for the award,” she said.
“It was totally unexpected, I cried as soon as they called my name – it was really emotional.
“I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved so far.”
The former Ysgol Morgan Llwyd pupil, who takes around an hour to complete a look, offers a full face of makeup for £30, or £35 for a full face of makeup with false eyelashes. Those who just want their eyes made-up are charged £25.
She also has a mobile bridal makeup service, covering the whole of North Wales and Chester and priced £60 on the day.
Other beauty treatments available at the studio include semi-permanent false eyelashes for £30, an eyebrow wax for £10 or an eyebrow tint and wax for £13.
The business got underway in a small hair and beauty salon in Southsea after Georgia went on a professional makeup course in Liverpool.
Three years later, she has gone on to work behind the scenes twice at one of the country’s biggest festivals, Creamfields – working her magic on stars including Tom Zanetti, DJ Rocket and acclaimed DJ Eric Prydz’s wife.
The studio is open from Tuesdays to Saturdays, and some days on request.
